Find your current energy supplier
Use these steps if you’re unsure who currently supplies your property:
1) Check recent paperwork
Look for a recent bill or welcome email at your address. It should show the supplier name, account number, and (for energy) your MPAN (electricity) or MPRN (gas).
2) Use the official look-ups
Gas: use the national Find My Supplier service.
You’ll need your address/postcode; it shows the current gas supplier and MPRN.
Electricity: contact your local electricity network operator (DNO) and ask for MPAS (Meter Point Administration Service).
They can tell you your current electricity supplier and MPAN for your address. You can find your DNO via the Energy Networks Association website or by calling 105 and asking to be directed.
3) If you’ve just moved in
Until your chosen supplier takes over, the existing supplier at the property will bill you. Starting a basic account with them prevents missed-payment issues while your Bunch switch progresses.
Contact your current/previous supplier
Have these to hand: full address, meter serial number (photo), MPAN/MPRN, and your switch or move-in date.
Ask them to:
Confirm responsibility dates (they bill up to the day before Bunch’s takeover; Bunch bills from takeover).
Correct any overlap using your switch-date reading and dated meter photo.
Re-issue any bill that includes days after Bunch’s takeover.
Bunch can confirm takeover dates and opening/closing readings from industry data, but suppliers won’t discuss your account with us directly as we’re not the account holder.
