How to Request a Cancellation

Cancelling your Bunch services.

Updated over a month ago

We're sorry to hear you're thinking about cancelling your services. To cancel, please email [email protected] and our team will provide you with the next steps.

Important Things to Know

Here are a few scenarios to keep in mind when cancelling:

What Will It Cost?

In the 14-day cooling-off period (14 days from the date of signing up):

  • No services ordered? No fees — just confirmation

  • Services ordered? You may see some cancellation charges — we’ll send a full breakdown

After the 14-day cooling-off period (mid-contract):

  • Cancellation fees will apply (see below).

  • We’ll carry out a full account check and send:

    • A list of any services used

    • Any cancellation fees

    • A refund, if you’re owed one

  • If you are a renter: You'll need to provide a copy of your tenancy agreement if you're cancelling mid-contract, but our team will request this from you.

If you remain in the same property but want to switch to another provider mid-contract:

  • The same cancellation fees apply as if you were leaving Bunch entirely.

  • This means you’ll be charged the relevant termination fees below.

Cancellation Fees

Details in our Terms & Conditions

  • Energy – £100 per fuel (that’s £200 if you have gas & electricity with us)

  • 💧 Water – £25

  • 🌐 Broadband

    • BT & Vodafone – £50 termination fee + the remainder of your contract

    • Virgin – The remainder of your contract only

    • 🔄 Router not returned? – £100 charge

  • 📺 TV Licence – You’ll pay the remainder of the current quarter (e.g. cancel in Jan, you pay until end of March)

🧾 Management Fees (if applicable) – The remainder of your contract

Shared Homes (HMOs)

If you live in a house with multiple tenants:

  • All housemates must email us individually (at [email protected])

  • To update or change housemate details (like tenancy swaps or regrades), the new and outgoing tenants must also contact Customer support to complete the process.

Cancelling Fixed Energy Tariffs

If you cancel a Fixed Energy contract:

  • Your account will move to a Standard Variable Tariff (SVT).

  • You’ll continue to receive SVT bills from Bunch until your new supplier takes over.

  • Any outstanding balances must be cleared before you can switch to a new energy provider.

Timing of Cancellation & Payments

If there’s a delay in processing your cancellation:

  • Your next scheduled payment may still be taken.

  • To avoid being charged for an extra month, we recommend emailing [email protected] well in advance of your next billing date.

We’re working hard to improve this process and avoid delays, and we appreciate your understanding.

Final Statement

Once your account is closed and all supplier bills are reconciled, you’ll receive a final statement via email.

  • The payment due date will be clearly shown on your final statement

  • Please ensure funds are available on or before this date

If the final payment is missed (e.g. due to insufficient funds):

  • We will retry the payment automatically within our usual payment timeframes

  • You’ll be notified of any failed attempts and next steps by email

  • Keeping your payment method active helps avoid delays or further issues

If you have any questions or want to discuss staying with Bunch, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our friendly team via email.
