One person cancels only?

What to do if one housemate wants to cancel their Bunch contract while others stay — options for covering costs or switching names.

Updated this week

🚫 Important: Single-tenant households

If you are the only tenant on the contract, the options below do not apply.
We cannot transfer your contract to a new tenant and continue the remaining term with your services.
Instead:

  • They will need to cancel the contract in full.

  • The new tenant moving in will need to sign up for their own contract with Bunch.
This ensures all services and billing are correctly linked to the new customer.

For shared houses (two or more tenants)

If one person wants to leave their Bunch contract but the rest of the house is staying, there are two easy options:

Option 1: The remaining tenants cover the difference

The rest of the house can agree to adjust their monthly payments to cover the share of the person who’s leaving.

To set this up, just call our team on 0333 358 3377. We’ll confirm the new cost and help update your account.

Option 2: A new housemate takes over

If a new person is moving in, they can take over the outgoing housemate’s place on the account.

  • They’ll need to sign up with Bunch, linked to the lead tenant

  • There’s no interruption to your services — we handle the handover
