Before You Apply — Check You’re Eligible
Please read this before submitting your request:
You do not already have a smart meter installed at your property.
You want a smart meter, not just an In-Home Display (IHD).
If you need an IHD because yours is missing or broken, please contact Customer Support
Your meter location is accessible and safe for an engineer to work on.
You are happy for an engineer to attend within the next 2–3 weeks (subject to availability).
Getting a smart meter is quick and easy. Here’s how it works:

Start by completing our short online form here to let us know you're interested.
We’ll Contact You
A member of our metering team will get in touch to get some details about your current meter and its location (we may ask for a photograph of your current meter after the call) and arrange a convenient appointment.
Confirm by Email
Once your appointment is booked, we’ll send you all the details by email to confirm.

The average time between booking and installation is 2-3 weeks. This may vary.
Installations take between 1-2 hours
It’s good to check where your meter is, if you haven’t already, ahead of the installation
The smart meter and its installation are both free of charge!
If your installation is cancelled by the engineer, we’ll contact you to get this rebooked
If you cancel within 3 working days of the installation, a £30 cancellation fee will apply
