Why does water have an allowance?

Why does the water have an allowance?

Updated over a week ago

Some Bunch packages are pay-as-you-go, rather than unlimited. In these cases, you will have a set water allowance.

  • Water bills can be:

    • Fixed (rateable) – a set charge, not linked to usage.

    • Metered – based on the actual amount of water you use.

At the point of sign-up, it’s not always clear whether your property is fixed or metered. To avoid surprises, we make a prediction of your usage based on industry data and past experience. This becomes your allowance.

With a pay-as-you-go package:

  • You can view your water bills in the portal.

  • You can track your usage against the allowance.

  • This helps you monitor and adjust your usage if needed.

The allowance is designed to keep your bills fair and predictable.
