Meter readings are essential for tracking your actual energy usage. They allow us to:
Accurately measure how much gas or electricity you're using.
Alert you if you're going over your usage allowance based on the package you signed up for.
What Happens If You Don’t Submit Readings?
If we don’t receive regular readings, you’ll be billed based on estimated usage from our supplier. These estimates can be up to 30% higher than your actual usage.
To avoid overpaying, we recommend submitting a meter reading at least once per month through your customer portal.
Going Over Your Allowance
Don’t worry if you go over your allowance during colder months—it’s expected! Heating often increases winter energy use. But remember:
You're billed based on your average usage over 12 months.
Lower usage in warmer months typically balances out higher usage in winter.
This means occasional spikes shouldn’t lead to extra charges, as long as your overall average stays within your plan.
